Yay it’s Friday y’all!! Who else felt like this was a long week?! I mentioned yesterday that the kids and I have colds…lots of extra kiddo snuggles but also lots of extra grumpies too. You may have seen on my Instagram stories this week that we celebrate both Hanukah and Christmas. Hanukah started on Tuesday night, so our gift giving has already begun! We give the kids one small gift for each of the eight nights of Hanukah. Small toys, race cars, stuffed animals, candy, books, pajamas, slippers, puzzles. Then on Christmas they get their larger (more expensive) gifts.

Today I want to share some of my favorite gifts for the kids. When it comes to finding the perfect gifts for the kiddos I like to try and stick to three categories; a want, a need and an educational. Charlie has been telling us he really wants this “watch”. He “needs” a new bike since he’s outgrown his current one and it is being passed down to Josh now. And I’ve heard really great things about Osmo, this amazing educational gaming system that is hands-on.

Josh wants race cars and Paw Patrol toys. There’s not much that Josh “needs” since he’s a second child, but he could use some new jeans, sweatshirts and boots since the seasons are slightly off between when Charlie was in 3T/4T size and when Josh is. And I think a new ride on toy would be really fun for him since he loves them.

All three of my kids love puzzles, so I ordered a few of these puzzles with family photos on them. How fun is that!! I’m so excited for the kids to see them! In general, I love to find items for the kids that are something other than the typical plastic toys. And I like to indulge their want item(s) but also get item(s) that are practical and that will last them longer than just until the new “it” toy comes out.

I love the magic of the holidays, especially experiencing holidays with the kids. I’m looking forward to the next five nights of Hanukah and to Christmas with my three lil dudes. Hope you have a wonderful weekend and happy holiday shopping!!

Best Holiday Gifts for Him

Hi loves! Happy Thursday! I hope that your week has been going great! At our house we are all battling colds…sore throats and the sniffles. Charlie has been home from school for the past two days, and Jordan just got back from a week long business trip overseas. So I am way behind on my holiday gift guide posts. You may have seen on my Instagram stories that we celebrate both Hanukah and Christmas. Hanukah started this week, so our gift giving has already begun! We give the kids one small gift for each of the eight nights of Hanukah. Small toys, race cars, stuffed animals, candy, books, pajamas, slippers, puzzles. Then on Christmas they get their larger (more expensive) gifts.

Jordan and I typically wait until Christmas to give each other our gifts, and keep Hanukkah about the kids. When it comes to finding the perfect gifts for him I like to either upgrade items that he’s owned for years that need to be replaced, freshened up or updated. Think his favorite briefcase, button down and tie, slippers and/or sneakers, watch (I love the gunmetal hue of this one!), or jacket that he uses regularly. Or I like to look to technology and gift him new electronic products; like a fitbit or Nest. I got him Bose headphones a few years ago and he LOVES them, especially when he travels. He is constantly complaining about our energy bills, so the Nest Thermostat is at the top of the list for this year.

Last year I got him a new TV for our front living room, which was a big hit with both him and the kids. He always keeps some business cards in his iPhone case, so this phone case would be perfect for him. And he’s a big whiskey drinker so he loves these whiskey cubes. The whiskey cubes are one of those items that he loves and uses regularly that could use an update/refresh.

In general, I love to find items for him that are classic and timeless. Items that are durable enough to hold up for years to come. Today is the last day to order online and have your orders arrive in time for Christmas using standard shipping. If you don’t want to pay for expedited shipping costs my best tip is place your order online but select in store pick up. Some retailers, like Nordstrom, even have curbside pick up…genius and a total lifesaver!!!

Happy Monday! I hope that you had a wonderful weekend! Sam and I got to enjoy part of the weekend as the only two at home, and I have to say it was so nice! I also made some progress on my holiday shopping. Can you believe that Hanukah starts this week and that Christmas is less than 2 weeks away! Where does the time go?!

Today is all about this perfect little black dress! I was right away drawn to the circular cut out design since it’s so different from all of the other black dresses that I have. It is also really comfortable for such a dressy look. So perfect for holiday parties and any event coming up in the new year.

Here I paired it with classic black pumps and a nude clutch for a timeless look. These pumps are an investment piece but are so worth the price because the quality is amazing and they go with everything! I found some fabulous looking dupes here, here and here. I love how adding the large gold hoop earrings to the outfit made the look pop for the holidays. And the earrings are currently on major sale for under $50!

Happy Thursday! We are almost to the weekend!! So close I can feel it!! One of the main to do’s on my agenda this weekend is to shop for holiday gifts for everyone on my list. Who else feels super behind on their holiday shopping this year?!? I partially blame hosting Thanksgiving, Sam’s big birthday bash, and Josh’s upcoming third birthday for my lack of holiday shopping so far. Truth be told, I’m a procrastinator and tend to leave things until the very last minute. I thrive off of being under pressure and do my best and most creative gift shopping when it’s spur of the moment. As I’m compiling the gifts that I’m thinking of getting for everyone on my list I will share my favorite finds with you. Be sure to check back frequently over the next few weeks for lots of gift guides.

For today’s first gift guide I’m focusing on gifts for her. Shopping for “her” can either be really easy, she loves it all! Or it can be really frustrating, she already has it all! From your mom, sister, sis-in-law, to your bestie here is a round up of my favorite holiday gifts for her. I also really love the idea of going in on a larger gift with a few people to really spoil her with something that she would not normally buy for herself!

Happy Tuesday, and first full week of December, loves!! Before I dive into gift guides and all things holiday related, I wanted to share this look that I have been wearing on repeat a lot lately. This Bailey 44 ‘Authoritative’ top is definitely one of my favorites. It is so soft and cozy! And the off the shoulder style is perfectly on trend. It also comes in black. And some very similar styles (that are all just as soft and comfy) here, here and here.

In the fall I love to pair a chic sweatshirt with jeans and nude heels for a laid back look. If you are in a cooler part of the country, a chunky boot or bootie would look just as fab! When I find something that I love, it’s on repeat. And this fall time casual look has definitely been on repeat a lot lately.
