Happy Monday!! I hope that you all had a fabulous weekend! Our Saturday was a tad busy but then on Sunday we were able to enjoy a slightly more relaxed end to the weekend. The weekends seem to go by faster and faster lately. Anyone else feeling that way lately too?
Here is a look at an essential dress for summer time that I wore last weekend to lunch with my boys. It is the same blouson style as this dress that I loved a few summers back, but in a softer knit fabric and a less structured fit. The smocked waist is super flattering. I love that it can be worn dressed up with a favorite pair of heels and a clutch for a date night like pictured above. Here I accessorized it minimally with just Stuart Weitzman ‘nudist’ heels, YSL ‘monnogram’ clutch and Michele watch. Or it can be dressed down with flats or espadrilles and a tote. It would also make a cute bathing suit cover up for the pool or beach. I can tell already that I will be wearing it on repeat a lot this summer.
If you are in need of a great essential dress for Memorial Day gatherings this coming weekend, this Joie dress is perfect for BBQs, pool parties and beach vacations! As a mom of three, I love easy summer time dresses that are comfortable enough to be worn chasing after the kids but that can also look great for a night out. And this dress fits both of those! I also love this strapless maxi version. I might just have to get it too 😉
Speaking of Memorial Day…who has fun Memorial Day plans? Can you tell that I’m already looking forward to the next weekend. I would love to hear what your plans are?!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful week 🙂
Thank goodness it’s Friday!! Jordan has been traveling so much the past few weeks and solo parenting three kids that are ages 5 and under is no easy feat. Especially with Charlie’s busy sports schedule and end of the school year activities going on right now. So needless to say I am excited that it is Friday, dad comes home and I get my parenting partner in crime back to help for the weekend! 🙂 There is a new shopping and dining area opening up near us, and some of the restaurants are having their pre grand opening events this weekend, so we are making a date night out of it tomorrow night and checking them out. This mama cannot wait!! On Sunday we are hoping to go to the Byron Nelson golf tournament at the Four Seasons, as long as the storms stay to the north of us. The Byron Nelson is always such a fun time!
Today I’m wearing this fun yellow Pom Pom tassel top from Alice and Olivia. I love the yellow and am hoping the sunshine color will bring some sunny mojo our way for the weekend. Pom poms and tassels are a big trend right now and are such a fun detail on spring items. I linked below some other pieces with Pom Poms and tassels that I’m loving.
This top is so fab with the tiered layers, the poms, bell sleeeves and cold shoulder. So many spring/summer trends all in one shirt!! Here I went pretty straight forward and paired the top with white ripped jeans, tan stacked heels and Louis tote. I love these white ripped jeans and wear them all the time. These ones from Topshop are indentical and a fraction of the cost. The Louis Vuitton neverfull tote is my go to tote…however lately I’ve started feeling like my “neverfull” is always too full 😂 I blame it on being a mom of three! I’m thinking about upgrading to the larger size. This one is the MM and I think I need the GM now. The newer ones come with an inside pouch too that is perfect for storing a cell phone and keys. I’ll keep you all posted on if I end up getting the larger one.
What are you up to this weekend? Whatever it may be, I hope it is filled with sunshine and fun!
Happy mid-week!! I had an amazing weekend, and Mother’s Day with my boys! They spoiled me rotten with lots of hand made artwork, yummy meals, flowers and the perfect mix of time spent together and sending me off for some “me time” and pampering (workout, manicure and Drybar!). It really was the perfect weekend! I can’t believe that we are already half way through the month of May and that summer is right around the corner! Next week is Charlie’s last full week of Pre-K. How did that happen?!? I cannot believe how fast the past three years of pre-school have flown by. I love this time of year, and I love seeing my boys grow and flourish but I do wish that it would all slow down just a bit.
Today I’ve gone gingham with pops of pink. Gingham always makes an appearance around this time of year, but this year in particular it is everywhere. With all trends I think it is about finding the right way to wear it for you. For me that is a chic gingham dress over the more traditional gingham button down blouse. I immediately loved the cold shoulder with the fun sleeves on this dress from Milly. And I love the larger gingham print.
Here I went with a fun pop of color by wearing these super old Charles David coral heels with the gingham dress and blush YSL clutch. These heels are several years old but I always seem to wear them over and over again every spring. I linked similar ones above and below. I can’t wait to wear this dress belted and with flats. I can tell I’ll get a lot of wear out of it this summer. It’s such a fun and easy dress to wear. Literally the perfect easy breezy summer dress for when it is hot hot hot out!
Have an amazing Wednesday! I’m working on some fun things for the blog and enjoying a day with no activities for the kids after two days in a row of swimming lessons, baseball practice yesterday and Charlie’s Kung Fu spring show tomorrow.
Happy Friday!! Woohoo!! I am more than ready for some R&R this weekend. Josh has been a the walking definition of the terrible twos lately, and this week was particularly rough. I think he was upset that my dad left after staying with us for a week, and Jordan also had a business trip and left town again after being home for only one night. And who did Josh take it out on…me. Aside from Charlie’s t-ball game tomorrow, I am hoping for a chance at some “me time” this weekend. It is Mother’s Day weekend after all 😉
My mom and I celebrated Mother’s Day earlier in the week while she was in town. We did what we do best, lunched and shopped. I can’t wait to show you the dresses that I got from our little shopping excursion! They are some of my very favorite dresses. It’s always so much fun to have some mother/daughter time. My mom is a pure perfect example of what kind of mom I strive to be. She has always put my sisters and I ahead of herself. She is health, strength, love, inspiration and selflessness all rolled into one beautiful momma!
Here is a round up of some super fab gift ideas for Mother’s Day. I personally love to give and receive gifts that are pampering and bit luxurious. Things that people would not typically buy for themselves. This Bose speaker is perfect for dance parties with the kiddos. I could seriously live in my Plum Pretty Sugar robe, or any robe. I recently switched to the T3 hair dryer and flat iron and am loving them both…and this purple color is so cute and screams happy Mother’s Day. I’m a bit embarrassed to say that the recipes that I have are a disastrous scattered mess, and I’m in need of a cute recipe box like this one from Rifle Paper Co. to help corral everything into one organized spot. I am dying to try this mask from La Mer…that would be pure pampering right there.
I would love to hear what you are giving the women in your life for Mother’s Day.
Happy weekend, and a very happy Mother’s Day to all of you mommies!!
Happy Wednesday!! I hope you had a great weekend! We really enjoyed our long weekend away in Arizona, but it’s nice to be back home with our babies! We made the most of our time in AZ hiking, playing tennis, spending lots of time at the pool, ate really great food and relaxed on our patio at the resort by the fire pit. If you are ever in Phoenix you have to go to Steak 44! It was one of the most amazing meals we’ve ever had! One of our top 10! We loved the bar and the atmosphere there, had incredible service and the food was delicious.
We stayed at the Arizona Biltmore (a Waldorf Astoria property). I grew up spending a lot of time there on family vacations to Phoenix so it brought back a lot of fun memories. There was an SEC and a Big 12 conferences going on at the resort this past weekend while we were there, so Jordan enjoyed seeing lots of college football and basketball coaches. I think by far his favorite moment of the trip was meeting Coach Bill Self, the current men’s basketball coach for our alma mater KU!! If you saw my Insta stories than you know, we ran into him and chatted with him a few times, and Jordan even had a beer with him by the pool. Super nice guy! Rock Chalk!!
After our fun time in the dessert it is nice to be back home with our kiddos. But it is never easy getting back to reality and back into the swing of things. Can’t we just live in vacation mode all the time 😉
That is why this week I’m living in jeans, tees and jackets like today’s look. I could wear white jeans and a simple white tee just about everyday. Sometimes with heels like shown here in my Stuart Weitzman nudists, and other times (like today) with flippy floppies. I elevated the look by putting on one of my Blank NYC suede jackets. These jackets are perfect for the fluctuating spring temps, dessert evenings (miss them already!) and/or cool summer nights.
I have still been into white paired with blue and blush lately. It’s just such a great spring combination. I love the pop of color in this look from the blue jacket with all the white and the subtle touches of blush. And I love the ease of outfits like this one that you can take from day time to night time.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a terrific Wednesday!
