Hi loves! Happy Monday!
I have a question for you. Do you start your week with a workout?
A while back I read an article in Self magazine that was titled “Never Miss a Monday Workout!” I immediately loved it! The concept is clear and simple. Working out on Monday means that I start the week feeling like I’ve already accomplished something. There’s a great power in this.
Before training for my first half marathon I would run, or do my workout, on whatever days I could. It wasn’t until I was training that I began having to really schedule my workouts in advance. I was following 2 different training guides/methods and tailored them to my specific needs and schedule. One of them had Monday as a cross-training day. I soon found myself not quite starting my week off on the right foot. I was frequently skipping my Monday workouts. Yes, I need to up my cross-training game and get better at those types of workouts!
But it was then that I really understood the power in “Never Miss a Monday.”
I remembered that article from a few years back, and it suddenly rang so true. After I workout once I usually want to do it more. I workout harder and more frequently if I start my Monday’s with a workout. I also feel better, make better decisions with food and am more productive throughout the week when I begin my week off on the right foot (literally!).
No excuses! Even if it means waking up extra early. If you follow me on Instagram than you have probably seen in my stories that I have been waking up to do a 5:30am barre class. You guys, I am not a morning person! But I LOVE doing this! And if I can do it, so can you!
You will feel a sense of accomplishment and prepared to handle any challenges the week may throw at you.
So with that, my biggest fitness tip is to workout on Mondays. Give it a try and let me know if you agree.
