Happy Thursday loves! Who else is more than ready for the weekend?!? Tonight we have open house at Charlie’s elementary school. And my kids are on spring break next week so we are officially gearing up for some fun! I always feel like these breaks come at the perfect time…right when we could use a break from the early mornings and a change in our usual routine. I’m also looking forward to daylight savings starting this weekend. It will make those early wake ups easier when it’s light outside.
Along with spring break and the spring time change comes the switch to our spring wardrobes. I recently ordered some spring transitional pieces, and can’t wait to wear them. But the cold front that swept through yesterday, and I know that a lot of you have oodles of snow still!, made me hit pause on spring purchases for a moment. Instead I’m reworking pieces that are already in my wardrobe, like this suede jacket from last year (last seen in this post). It’s still available in lots of colors and sizes, and is still wildly popular. I love the zipper detailing and it goes with everything!
A trend that I am loving for early spring is pointed toe pumps! From classic black pumps to fun colors, prints and patterns the options are endless and the closed toes are still seasonly appropriate. I can’t wait to wear these that I’ve had for a few years with white jeans, and I have these in my cart right now.
Bringing out a lighter or brighter colored bag is a great way to ease into spring. And I love ankle length jeans for showing just a hint of skin without freezing. The biggest trick that I stick to is to mix textures, like I did with this metallic cami (how sweet is the ruffle neckline!?) with denim, suede, and patent leather. The jacket, jeans, cami and pumps were all already staples in my wardrobe from previous seasons that I used to make a new and inspired look.
Do you like to feel re-inspired by older pieces already in your closet?
I hope you have a fabulous weekend! Remember to spring forward on Saturday night. Hopefully the weather will get the memo soon too.
